Here we are again at the most loved day for pot smokers around the globe: 4/20. This is the one day that fans of mary jane everywhere are united in celebrating their love for the herb. Whether you are in a state or country that allows you the freedom to celebrate in the open or if you need to celebrate in the confines of your home, undoubtedly we can all find one way or another to pay tribute to our love for cannabis.

I’ll start off with some of the best places to be on 4/20 that will allow you to unite with other marijuana enthusiasts to have an awesome cannabis filled day. San Francisco is one of the best places to be this 4/20. The annual NorCal gathering will take place to celebrate all things marijuana on “Hippie Hill” in Golden Gate Park. Light up a joint or munch on your edibles with other cannabis lovers when the clock strikes 4:20 on 4/20.

Colorado has been a cannabis loving state for quite some time now so would expect nothing less than an epic marijuana celebration.  The annual cannabis rally will unite tokers from all over to come together to celebrate and enjoy this cannabis culture festival. You don’t want to miss this world’s largest cannabis rally and free performances....

If you are planting outdoors this summer then you will come across all kinds of pests that want you to share your cannabis plants with them. They will most likely invite themselves over, start munching away at your beloved plants, and continue to do so until you take notice and stop them.

One of the most voracious of these pests is the caterpillar.  Although caterpillars aren’t the most horrific looking pests that love cannabis, they are still one of the most hated because they can do a whole lot of damage with their powerful jaws that munch away at your cannabis leaves, stems, and buds. It only takes about 5 to 10 caterpillars to destroy a plant.

One of the most common ways to recognize a caterpillar infestation is if chunks of leaves are missing and if you see small black spots on the leaves which are the caterpillar droppings. If people in the same geological area have complained of caterpillar infestation then you can begin checking your plants long before chunks of leaves are missing....

Last blog I wrote about the all the different ways to consume cannabis that is safer than smoking.  One of those mentioned was consuming oil capsules or “canna caps.” Canna caps can pack a powerful punch for getting rid of a range of things from pain to anxiety.  They act similarly to cannabis edibles, and capsules are a great option for diabetics or those not wanting to consume the sugar that comes with special brownies or space cakes.

Currently there are many dispensaries that sell oil capsules. They vary greatly in terms of potency so be sure to read the label before purchasing. If you want to ensure that you are getting the best product for yourself then there’s no better way than to make it yourself. When you are making it yourself you should pay attention to the dose of each capsule as that will be the minimum dose that you take. So, if you make the single dose too strong then you are pretty much stuck….usually on the couch.

Making your own canna cups is a safe and easy procedure. You don’t have to worry about explosions or fire. There’s no need for a science lab, test tubes, or petri dishes. Almost everything you will need you probably already have in your kitchen. ...

The healthiest ways to consume cannabis

Smoke is harmful to your lungs, whether it is from a burning fire, tobacco, or cannabis. When you light up your standard lighter it can reach up to 3,590 degrees Fahrenheit (1,977 degrees Celsius). That intense (very intense) heat is directly applied to your bud and then you inhale the hot, ashy particles into your lungs. That hot and unfiltered smoke is what causes you to cough and causes tar build up. As much as we like smoking bud, it is just not the safest way to consume cannabis.

So, how can you safely consume cannabis? There are a multitude of ways to choose from to best suit your needs.

Right off the bat I can tell you that edibles are becoming increasingly popular with many more options than your regular ‘ol “space cake.” Of course no offense to space cake as we all can agree that cannabis and chocolatey sweet goodness go good together. Nowadays you can get your buzz from pretty much any candy you prefer like gummies, chocolate bars, fruit bars, or savory crackers; you name it and you can get it. It doesn’t just stop with edibles, now there’s drinkables too. Cannabis infused wine, beer, tea, juice, are all in the market ready for you to try. The good thing about edibles is that the amount of cannabis you are consuming can be measured so it takes the guess work out of the equation.

Cannabis is decriminalized in Israel

This week the spotlight is on Israel as it has made a move to decriminalize recreational cannabis use. Israel is no stranger to the herb and has served as a central hub for advancing medicinal cannabis.

The Israeli cabinet approved a plan that would impose a $270 fine to first time offenders caught smoking cannabis in public rather than incarceration. The first offense will not go on a person’s criminal record. The fine gets doubled if there is a second offence, and a third offense would mean probation and a record of the offense would only be expunged after some time. Only after a person re-offends 4 times would criminal prosecution be taken. If a minor is caught consuming cannabis then they would be criminally investigated if they refuse to partake in a treatment program. Growing and selling marijuana will still be illegal. The money from the fines will be used to finance anti drug treatment and education.

Gilad Erdan, Public Security Minister, that led the reform has said, “the government’s approval is an important step on the way to implement the new policy, which will emphasize public information and treatment instead of criminal enforcement.”...
