The differences between dabbing and vaping
The biggest difference between dabbing and vaping is the type of product that you inhale. Dabbing is used for cannabis concentrates such as crumble, shatter and wax. And for vaping you need cartridges with specifically produced e-liquids or e-juices.

How does dabbing work?
Also, the heating mechanisms are different between dabbing and vaping. A dab rig (which is essentially a bong with a nail instead of a bowl), heats the hell out of a titanium (or quartz or ceramic) nail. Then touches (or dabs) the wax onto it, and the subsequent vapor is inhaled through the mouthpiece or the rig.
How does vaping work?
The process is different with vaping. With a vape, an electric heating coil heats the air in the room with the vapors instead of heating the actual oil. By heating the air to a certain temperature, the active cannabinoids and terpenes (such as THC and CBD) are pulled out of the oil and into the air of the room. This produces a pure vapor that can be inhaled.
